Harding Syred Bears by Jo Duckworth

From conception to completion this piece has been a unique and challenging experience.

The base to the tip of the cocoon measures 9" (23cm) in height.
The wings span 9" (23cm) and have been made from cotton and wool with a viscose back.
I have also handpainted and wired the wings.
The cocoon has been hand sculpted, painted, crackled and sits on a raw wood base which is 5" (13cm) by 5" (13cm).
The bear is made from viscose and hand shaded. The arms are fixed to the cocoon as he pushes out to break free.
